The Kennedy Collective's President and CEO Richard E. Sebastian, Jr. released the following statement in response to the arrest of former employee for larceny and forgery.

Dear Kennedy Center employees, families, friends and stakeholders,

As reported by The Trumbull Times on Monday, June 17, a former employee was arrested last week on charges of forging Kennedy Center checks and larceny of roughly $25,000.

This matter was first brought to our attention in November 2018 and we have cooperated with the Trumbull Police throughout the investigation.  We sincerely thank the Trumbull detectives, Connecticut State Police and the staff at the Department of Motor Vehicles for diligence and dedication that has brought some level of resolution to this unfortunate incident.

The Kennedy Center empowers more than 2,400 individuals with disabilities each year and employs 750 people.  Each day, I am inspired by both the people who are thriving in our programs and our employees who devote their time and talents to improving the lives of others.

While, like you, I am deeply disturbed by the allegations in this case, I know these actions do not define The Kennedy Center and the work we do each day.  We will continue, together, to create opportunities, unleash potential and enhance our communities.

Please direct inquiries and questions to our Director of Communications, Kate Czaplinski at 203-365-8522 Ext. 2015.  Kate will be our point of contact for all internal and external communications.

Sincerely,
Richard E. Sebastian, Jr.
President & CEO
