The Kennedy Collective was among the first in the state of Connecticut to develop Day Support service programs, in order to provide an important solution for family caregivers of people with disabilities. Our Day Supports offer a range of options – with all services helping the person with disabilities feel a personal connection, experience fun activities, enjoy learning experiences, and spend time in their local community.
The Kennedy Collective Day Support service has 13 program locations throughout southern Connecticut – including Trumbull, Stratford, Newtown, Milford and Bridgeport.
Art and music therapies have been a mainstay in The Kennedy Collective Day Support programs. A team of Expressive Arts Therapists is present in the programs weekly, to ensure that the hidden talents many people with disabilities have are stimulated and expressed.
The art developed by people with disabilities in the Day Support programs has been exhibited in multiple galleries, city venues, and state buildings. Work from these talented artists are also selected for inclusion in The Kennedy Collective annual calendar – A Unique Perspective.
In many cases, The Kennedy Collective provides Day Support services for an individual with disabilities throughout their life span. Through our multiple locations and activity options, individuals and their families come to rely on these programs for educational, supportive and highly-enriched days.
If you or someone you love would benefit from our Day Support Options, The Kennedy Collective team would love to have a discussion. Please provide some initial information, and a team member will be in touch with you.
