As a way for people with disabilities to lead more enriched lives, The Kennedy Collective offers Social & Leisure services. Members of our social group, named The Drop In, can partake in a variety of monthly activities – from fun adventures out into the community, to team-building games. All activities are social in nature, are attended by our specialist staff, and are based on the personal interests of the participating individuals.

The Drop In Social Group

The Drop In social group – consisting of both men and women with disabilities – meets every Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm at The Kennedy Collective building, 39 Lindeman Drive, in Trumbull, Connecticut. In these gatherings, social activities are suggested, planned, and scheduled three months in advance – which empowers members to use their life skill-building for choosing events, and planning their attendance.

The Drop In program was created more than 30 years ago – and the original members still make up most of the core group. Individuals mention the fact that they can express themselves, connect with others, feel a part of the community – and have a great time! – as reasons why they like planning and attending The Kennedy Collective social & leisure activities.

Socialization That Fosters Confident Lives

The Kennedy Collective Social & Leisure Services feature quality programming that enriches the lives of people with disabilities – increasing their socialization skills, building their confidence in group settings, and offering ways to enjoy their community. The individuals who attend these social activities create valuable relationships with each other – and with the local businesses they visit, who always look forward to The Kennedy Collective group coming back.
